Mrs. Joan Zegar has been at Dover Middle School since graduating Seton Hall 25 years ago. Considered the "Resident Life Scientist" by her colleagues, Mrs. Zegar loves teaching Biology. She continues to be a great aid to students in her role as Student Mentor/ Team Leader. She has received the Governor’s Teacher Recognition Award and been nominated for the Presidential Award in Math and Science. Mrs. Zegar coordinated the Environmental Education Program Stokes State Forest for 18 years.

Mr. John Ostroski came to Dover Middle School from Dover High School in 1996. He truly enjoys teaching the younger students at the Middle School. He entered teaching 23 years ago also with an Earth Science background. Mr. Ostroski serves on the Middle Grades Project, as a tutor for the Homework Center at DMS and heads up special projects such as the Aquatic Awareness Project funded by the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation.  "Mr. O" describes science as both his vocation and his avocation.
