Medieval Times Enrichment
Castles of the World Castle Terminology World Maps

You are ready to begin the exciting discovery of a medieval castle...

...follow the directions below to search & discover in this mini-webquest..

Step 1. Using a Google search or the link above, find the name of a medieval castle. Remember, in order for it to be considered a medieval castle, it must be used/built between 500 and 1500AD.

bullet Who lived there? When?
bullet How is it constructed? Protected?
bullet Where exactly is it located?
bullet How big is it?
bullet Is it used today?
bullet Did others live in it over the years?
bullet Has it ever been renovated?

Step 2. Find a picture of the castle to copy. Cut and Paste the picture into a Microsoft word document entitled your name and castle. Save this document in both the teacher's folder and your hard drive. You will need to resize the picture and use the drawing toolbar to identify the parts of a castle. Click on the castle terminology help resource for the complete definition list. You must clearly identify three to five parts of the castle.

Step 3. Find a map of your castle's locale. Copy and paste this into your Castle project. Again, using the text box technique learned in class, indicate where on the map your castle can be found. If you map is small, please enlarge it and include a secondary map so that your readers can get a firm understanding of where they may find your castle.

Step 4. Finally note for the reader where your information was found. For each section of your project, you must include the names and addresses of the websites you used.
